About Ken

Ken's passion for Landscape Horticulture comes naturally

Ken began his horticultural journey in the fall of 1978 working for a local landscaper as a labourer. When he wasn't needed on the landscape crew they would have him work in the greenhouses propagating tropical plants. This greenhouse experience initiated his love of the business. Ken today is one of the valley's top horticulturists. He has been sharing his gardening experience in the Okanagan since 1987. Ken's Horticultural Services are provided in the Central Okanagan area from Kelowna to Vernon. As one of the foremost local experts, Ken has always been eager to share his passion for horticulture by putting on numerous seminars each year.

Ken Salvail has a diverse and wide range of experience. His horticulture and landscaping background ranges from owning and managing nurseries and flower shops, to landscape designing, developing and maintaining incredible gardens for numerous happy clients. See here for our Mission Statement.

Ken has studied Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in the BCIT Horticultural Program. His other specialties include: species specific pest and disease identification of most trees and shrubs, organic gardening, advanced irrigation systems, as well as xeriscape (Dry land) landscaping. Ken's experience has made him a great resource for plant advice.
