Landscape Maintenance Tips

Tips for keeping your investment beautiful.

You'll want to make sure you have a watering system that gives all your new plantings accurate water. Be sure your Irrigation company has a horticulturist on staff to help decide the water requirements for your property.

Following the maintenance tips below will ensure a sustainable and eye catching garden.

Right plant right place- If a plant is planted in the right location IE. sun exposure, soil type, height and width requirement there would be very little to do to keep the plant happy.

Don't over fertilize - Lush plants get bugs

Prune only if necessary - Plants grow quickly and out of control if over pruned.

Control your landscape growth by watering correctly - When you water water well then don't water again until the plants need it. Once or twice per week should be adequate.

Develop a relationship with a reputable horticulturist to get timely advice and don't be afraid to pay for it.

Have a variety of plants and flowers on your property.

Start with ample quality soil to keep your plants healthy and pest free.

Landscape Fabrics have limited use and in some cases give a false sense of security when it comes to weed control. I recommend serious planning and use under rock mulches only. Save your money and get professional advice specific to your individual needs!

Keep insect spraying to an absolute minimum - By not spraying we allow beneficial insect populations to build up and take care of all of our insect control needs for us.
